WhatsApp has continuously added new features to its platform in the last few years. In recent times, the speed of growth has only increased, the messaging service receives useful new additions almost every other day on the beta channel, such as simplifying uncompressed media sharing, AI-generated stickers, and more. Meta has also recently changed the design of the app on the beta channel by moving the navigation bar down and updating some UI elements. As it turns out, WhatsApp is working on an even bigger design of its Android app.
Released to select beta testers (via WA Beta Info) as part of WhatsApp Beta for Android 18.104.22.168, the new UI includes updated content design 3 UI elements. The app’s top bar is now completely white, with other UI elements in green — the same shade WhatsApp uses in its logo. A new font has been used for the branding of WhatsApp in beta release.
These changes together give WhatsApp a more innovative look and feel. Although the navigation bar is still at the bottom of the new design, it’s unclear whether you can swipe to switch between tabs.
To better manage your growing list of conversations, the revamped WhatsApp will have chat filters at the top so you can easily see your unread, personal, or business messages. They also appeared in one of WhatsApp’s previous beta builds, though this time, they look updated. These filters will become even more useful when WhatsApp releases multi-account support.
Work on the new design of WhatsApp is still going on, so more changes will be made to the store. Since the design is in its final stages, WhatsApp should offer it widely for beta testers before a public release.
