Asia Cup 2023: Final Updated Squad Players List for All 6 Teams

The 16th edition of the Asia Cup i.e. Asia Cup 2023 is just a day away and finally we have an official squad for all six teams. Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Pakistan have already announced their official squads, while the Sri Lankan Cricket Board announced the squad yesterday afternoon.

Apart from Sri Lanka, who have selected only a 15-member squad, the remaining five teams have selected a 17-member squad. Overall, we should see a total of 100 players participating in the tournament, except for the travel reserve players. Out of 100 players, we have 29 batsmen, 11 wicket-keepers, 26 all-rounders and 34 bowlers.

The Asia Cup 2023 will begin on August 30 between Pakistan and Nepal. In total, there are six group stage matches, six Super Four matches and one final match between the six teams. The tournament will be held partly in Pakistan and Sri Lanka while the final will be played in Sri Lanka on September 6.

Well, with the official announcement of the squads for all six teams, it’s time we review all the squads in four different categories, namely batsmen, wicketkeepers, all-rounders and bowlers. #1: Afghanistan

Hashmatullah Shahidi will lead the Afghanistan team. A total of 17 players will be included in the team led by Shahidi, including 4 batsmen, 2 wicket-keepers, 6 all-rounders and 5 bowlers. Afghanistan’s main players include Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Rashid Khan, Ibrahim Zadran, Mohammad Nabi and Mujeeb Ur Rahman.

Shakib Al Hasan, Liton Das, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mehidy Meraj, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman.

Rohit Sharma has also led India in the Asia Cup 2022 and Asia Cup 2018. The 17-member squad consists of six batsmen, two wicketkeepers, three all-rounders and seven bowlers. A lot will depend on Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja for India to achieve success.

For Nepal, a lot will depend on their key players Rohit Poudel, Kaushal Bhortel, Sandeep Lamichhane and Arjun Saud.‎

Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, Shadab Khan and Shaheen Shah Afridi are important players from Pakistan.‎

‎Finally, coming to Sri Lanka, which announced its official squad yesterday, has a total of 15 players in this squad, which will be led by Dasun Shanaka. Sri Lanka have many key players missing, including their best player Wanindu Hasaranga. In his absence, Sri Lanka will have to rely on Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, Mahesh Theeksana and Mathisha Pathirana.‎
